MODULE #1 - Global connections.

Global connections aimed to connect students and their work with other students around the world. The most interesting things i learnt from today are
  • ePals - A website that allows us to connect our students with other students from all over the world. For example, i may engage my students on a project on a natural disaster in our local area, and compare that with students from another part of the world. I am looking at exchanging information with a class in China.
  • The Jason project - A science based program where teachers create lesson plans (or use the lesson plans provided), to create interactive and involved science lessons. The site allows students to involve themselves in their investigation, so that they 'take on' their project.
  • I also started my own Science Wiki. I plan to get students to add their own information.

MODULE #2 - Blogs and Wiki's

In the second module we looked at both blogs and wiki's. I focused on wiki's, as i could see wiki's as a a powerful learning tool. Today i improved my skills in using wikispaces and created my own wikispace for my year 7, 9 and 11 classes. I can see great benifit to all my classes, especially for my year 11 Earth and Environmental science class. I believe a wiki can be used to log information.
